Maximising Your Potential: Customised Rehabilitation Programs
Manly Waters Private Hospital has been providing Inpatient Rehabilitation since 2003. We work with our patients to restore their health to an optimum level of functioning so they can lead rewarding lives, as independently as possible.
Our Rehabilitation Programs include: Orthopaedic, General Reconditioning, Musculoskeletal, Neurological, Cardio, Respiratory and Falls Prevention.
Our team works under the guidance of Rehabilitation Specialists in collaboration with GPs to create a holistic assessment and integrated treatment regime. Each patient’s program is unique, with measureable goals and an individual therapy program designed to deliver optimum outcomes.
The hospital offers a choice of boutique suites with your own bathroom, or private and two bed rooms.
There is a communal dining room and lounge area in which to relax, featuring the spectacular water view of Manly Cove.
We have two well-equipped Gyms and a Hydrotherapy Pool.
Manly Waters Private Hospital offers both Inpatient and Day Only Rehabilitation programs:
After assessment by our Rehabilitation Specialist and Therapists, a specific program is designed to suit the needs of individual patients, including treatment to improve muscle strength, joint range, body balance, posture and increased independence.
Your local General Practitioner is invited to continue playing a part in your care in conjunction with the Rehabilitation Specialist.
To arrange admission, your Doctor will need to contact our Clinical Services Manager.
Day Only Rehabilitation
Programs are designed for patients who require several rehabilitation therapies. An initial consultation will be set up with our rehabilitation specialist. An individualised program will then be created by the Allied Health Team, which may include hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, exercise physiology, tai chi, occupational therapy, other Allied Health services, and healthy living education sessions.
Those who are not an inpatient will need a Doctor’s referral and medical summary.
Wellness Programs are available for you in two circumstances: following your Day Only rehabilitation Program or straight from the community. Programs are tailored to your individual medical requirements and may include hydrotherapy, PD Warrior for Parkinson’s Disease, tai chi, Pilates, combination classes, private physiotherapy and exercise physiology.

Your nurses will encourage and assist you to achieve your optimum level of independence. They provide care and supervision and will help you with your daily ward activities, provide wound management, educate you on protecting the affected area and monitor your general health.
Your nurses continually liaise with your therapists to ensure continuity of your rehabilitation program. They are always available to assist you with questions about your program, your medical care or other health concerns.
Your Occupational Therapist will help you practise everyday activities such as personal care activities, household tasks and work simplification techniques. He/she will also assist you in the use of aids to maintain independence. Your Occupational Therapist may visit your home prior to your discharge.
Your physiotherapist will help you to improve the strength and movement of your injured limb, your balance and your mobility. This involves a combination of individual exercises and gym work.
A ward exercise program will also be designed for you so you can continue to work and progress at any time.
